Ramana S. Moorthy, M.D.

Ramana S. Moorthy, M.D. is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, currently serving as the President and CEO of Associated Vitreoretinal and Uveitis Consultants. In addition to his practice duties, Dr. Moorthy has been a clinical professor of Ophthalmology at the Indiana University School of Medicine since 1995. He is also actively involved in research and education, with over 100 papers, presentations, lectures, book chapters and other publications to his name.

As an experienced and respected surgeon, Dr. Moorthy holds hospital appointments at Indiana University Medical Center/VAMC/Wishard Hospital, and is the Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at St. Vincent Hospital and Health Services.

After graduating Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Dr. Moorthy achieved an M.D. with Highest Distinction from the Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed an Internship in General Surgery and Residency in Ophthalmology at the Indiana University School of Medicine, where he was the chief teaching resident for a year. He also completed Fellowships at Northwestern University (retina) and the Doheny Eye Institute (uveitis).

Rodney S. Bucher, M.D.

Rodney S. Bucher, M.D. received a B.S. in Accounting from Purdue University before achieving his M.D. from Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, IN. He completed his post-graduate training with an Internship at Ball Memorial Hospital, Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center, and fellowship at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center.

F. Ryan Prall, M.D.

F. Ryan Prall MD is a native of Bloomington, Indiana and graduated from DePauw University, the IU School of Medicine and an Ophthalmology residency at the University of Colorado. He and his wife worked overseas in Ghana, India, and Honduras before returning to a position with the Veterans Administration in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Advancements in the treatment of many blinding retinal diseases led him to pursue a two-year fellowship in vitreo-retinal disease and surgery at Loma Linda University. He returned back home to Indiana and served as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the IU School of Medicine before joining Drs. Moorthy and Bucher at Associated Vitreoretinal and Uveitis Consultants.

Dr. Prall had published numerous research papers, authored multiple book chapters, and has presented at national meetings. He has a specific interest in age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.

Mark M. Kaehr, M.D.

Mark M. Kaehr, M.D. is an Indianapolis native. He received his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University before graduating from Indiana University with a degree in medicine. He worked as an intern at Wheaton Franciscan St. Joseph hospital in Milwaukee and then returned to Indianapolis to complete his ophthalmology residency at Indiana University where he was the chief teaching resident. Before joining Associated Vitreoretinal and Uveitis Consultants, he completed a surgical retina fellowship at Washington University Saint Louis.

Gian Paolo Giuliari, M.D.

Gian Paolo Giuliari, M.D., is a native of Venezuela. He brings 20 years of experience as a highly regarded and accomplished practitioner.

Dr. Giuliari completed his medical school in Caracas, Venezuela, and has worked worldwide. He completed residency training in Santo Domingo (DR), retina fellowship with Victor Gonzalez in McAllen, Texas; uveitis fellowship with Dr. C. Stephen Foster at the Massachusetts Eye Research and Surgery Institution (MERSI) in Boston; and ocular oncology fellowship with Rand Simpson at Princess Margaret Hospital of the University of Toronto. Before joining AVRUC, he was practicing in Atlanta.

Rita Singh, M.D.

Rita Singh, M.D., is a native of Indiana and grew up in Marion, Indiana. Dr. Singh is an experienced retinal specialist who has been practicing in central Indiana for the last 20 years. She completed her undergraduate degree at Duke University in North Carolina. She attended medical school at Indiana University and completed her ophthalmology residency and retina fellowship at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Singh sees patients in our Muncie and Carmel locations.
